Sale Report for NEWARK WINTER WARMERS

Date of Sale: Saturday 25th November 2017

Blue Texels Report from Newark Auction Mart.

Blue Texel prices were led by stock from the dispersal of Harry and Jake Pamplin’s Midnight flock, with the top call here being an 1800gns call for Midnight YumYum, a 2014-born ewe by AFS/11/00258 and out of a Shearstone bred ewe. She sold in-lamb to a Millside sire and was bought by Messrs Comer, Leigh, Swindon.

Second best at 1600gns was Midnight Willow, a 2013-born ewe exactly the same way bred as the sale topper and again in-lamb to the Millside sire. She was bought by Giles Hardman, Low Bands, Gloucestershire.

Then at 1500gns was the best of the gimmers from the Midnight flock, a gimmer bred in the Buteland flock, GDS/16/02347. She is by Rattrays Yogi and out of a dam by a Beili sire and sold in-lamb to the Millside tup. This one was taken by Messrs Partridge, Kersey, Ipswich.

A trio then sold at 1300gns, with the first of these being flock ewes. The first was a 2015-born ewe bred in the Sams flock, AFS/15/04775Y. Sired by Millend Whirlend and out of a Beili dam she was also in-lamb to the Beili sire and was bought by Tom Williams, Felton, Bristol.

Second at this level was Millend Young Georgie, a Hackney X-Rated daughter out of a dam by Shearstone Real Deal. Again in-lamb to the Millside tup she was bought by Chris and Laura Beck, Halesworth, Suffolk.
