Sale Report for MELTON MOWBRAY PEDIGREE BLUE TEXEL SALE - SATURDAY 7TH SEPTEMBER

Securing the leading price at the Blue Texel Sheep Society Show and Sale at Melton Mowbray was a shearling ram selling at 1,900gns.

The ram, Premier Hank was homebred from Robert Mawer & Emma Benge from their Premier Flock, a son of Beckbred Blues Frisky Whiskey and out of a Premier Daisy Duke. Securing first prize in the Shearling Ram class Hank was tapped out as Male Champion and Reserve Overall, he successfully sold to JK & JM Breare.


Premier Hank, 1,900gns

The overall champion was next up at 1,550gns a shearling ewe from Kevin Watret, Solway View Flock. The ewe, Solway View Heidi, is a daughter of Sunnybank Exchange Rate and is out of a Solway View import. Heidi was knocked down to Gaynor McDowell and CJ Cormack for their CJ’s Flock in Leicestershire.


Solway View Heidi, 1,550gns

Selling at 750gns was another shearling ewe from Kevin Watret, Solway View Flock. This ewe, Solway View Heaven also sired by Sunnybank Exchange Rate and out of a Solway View import ewe, sold on to A & I Fraser.

Also selling at 750gns was a ram lamb from Robert Mawer & Emma Benge, Premier Jack Frost, sired by Premier Hank and out of a homebred ewe. Jack frost sold to JA Baskerville & Son.
