SALE REPORT – BANK HOLIDAY BLUES

SALE DATE – 29TH MAY 2023

In the Blue Texels, mother and daughter, Elaine and Issy Hartley, who run the Pendle flock in Roughlee, Nelson, returned after heading the prices at last year’s inaugural fixture to do so again with a 1,000gns sale, among their run of four February and March, 2022-born gimmer hoggs.

The February, 2022, twin, Pendle Gina, by Walston Elite, out of the home-bred Pendle Coco Chanel, joined the Collins family, Barnard Castle. Two others from the same home, one again by Walston Elite, the other by Cairnrock Fernando, each made 700gns.

Hitting 800gns was Elsa McKechnie, of the Silver Birch flock in Wigglesworth, with her Blue Texel gimmer hogg, Silver Birch Glitter, a February, 2020, twin by Glenrock Franco, out of a Pendle dam. She went to High Birstwith in Nidderdale, with B Cooper.

Back again were Caroline Cochran and Iain Almond, who run the Towerview flock in Tockholes, Darwen, to claim 700gns with n empty gimmer hogg, Towerview Go For It, a March, 2022, single by Hackney Demonstrator, out of a Stonycroft dam, She, too, joined Mike Davis. Ewe lambs averaged £629.
