Sale Report:

It was the Overall Champion that led the Blue Texel Sheep Society Sale at St Asaph on Saturday 2nd September 2023. This Glanrafon Blues entry from M and G Sivill was knocked down for the top price of 800gns.

This shearling ewe entry was placed first as well as receiving the overall and female championship. Sired by Beili Blues Enzo and out of a home-bred ewe Glanrafon Blues ewe, she was successfully sold to MP Harding to join his Hardy Blues Flock near Montgomery.

Selling at the next top price of 600gns was another entry from M and G Sivill, Glanrafon Blues Hardy Nixon picked up the second-place rosette in the pre-sale judging. Hardy Nixon is a son of Rathbone Ezra and out of a home-bred ewe. He sold to JG Jones, Abererch, Pwllheli.

Topping the ewe lamb entries at 350gns was Hardy Blues Hot Stuff from MP Harding. Sired by Nantyderri Dylan this lamb is out of Hardy Blues Ffion. Hot Stuff was knocked down to Tomos and Calum Sivill for their Plas Coch Flock.

MP Harding also received 300gns for his ram lamb, Hardy Blues Hitman, which is sired by Jonsland Baler out of Hardy Blues Bianca. He was purchased by Hywel Jones, Llanrwst.

Also selling at the 300gns mark was a ewe lamb, Pen-y-Bec Hot Damn, from Glyndwr Arrowsmith and his Pen-y-Bec Flock. This Sams Yama-sired lamb bred from a Rattrays Bluetooth dam sold to G Thomas, Llangefni, Sir Fon.
